EPAT Shockwave Therapy

Targeted, non-invasive treatment designed to stimulate the body’s healing response and help patients with persistent foot and ankle pain return to activity.

A Modern Approach to Chronic Soft-Tissue Pain

At Just Feet & Ankle Care, EPAT (Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology) may be used for selected chronic tendon, fascia, and soft-tissue conditions that have remained painful or slow to recover.

How EPAT Works

EPAT delivers targeted acoustic pressure waves to the treatment area. This controlled mechanical stimulation can increase local circulation and stimulate biological activity involved in tissue repair, supporting the body’s natural healing response.

When EPAT May Be Recommended

EPAT may be considered for plantar fasciitis and chronic heel pain, Achilles tendinopathy, and selected chronic tendon or soft-tissue overuse conditions. Whether it is appropriate depends on the diagnosis, duration of symptoms, examination findings, and the overall treatment plan.

What to Expect

Treatment is performed in the office without an incision or anesthesia. Sessions are relatively brief, and patients can typically walk afterward. A series of treatments may be recommended depending on the condition and response.

How EPAT Fits Into Care

EPAT is not intended to replace an accurate diagnosis or appropriate conservative treatment. When indicated, it may be combined with stretching, physical therapy, orthotics, bracing, footwear changes, or activity modification.

Key Features

NON-INVASIVE
No incision or injection is required for the EPAT treatment itself.

TARGETED
Treatment is directed to the specific painful or injured tissue identified during evaluation.

SUPPORTS HEALING
Designed to stimulate a natural repair response rather than simply mask symptoms.

MINIMAL DOWNTIME
Patients can generally remain mobile and continue most normal daily activities.
