AI-Assisted Diagnostic Ultrasound

Real-time, in-office musculoskeletal imaging enhanced by AI-assisted features to help evaluate soft-tissue conditions and guide selected procedures.

See Soft Tissues in Real Time

Musculoskeletal ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of tendons, fascia, ligaments, muscles, fluid collections, and other superficial structures of the foot and ankle. Because imaging occurs live, structures can also be evaluated dynamically while the foot or ankle moves.

What AI Assistance Adds

At Just Feet & Ankle Care, handheld ultrasound technology includes AI-assisted features that can help identify, label, and measure selected musculoskeletal structures. AI serves as an imaging aid; clinical interpretation and treatment decisions remain based on the complete evaluation.

When Diagnostic Ultrasound May Be Used

Ultrasound may be performed when a closer real-time look at soft tissues can help clarify a diagnosis or provide information not available from physical examination or X-ray alone. It may be useful for tendon disorders, plantar fascia problems, ligament and soft-tissue injuries, fluid collections, cysts, localized swelling, and selected nerve-related or superficial soft-tissue conditions.

Ultrasound-Guided Procedures

Ultrasound may also be used to guide selected injections and procedures. Real-time imaging allows the treatment area, needle position, and surrounding structures to be visualized during the procedure, helping improve precision when clinically appropriate.

When Is Ultrasound Performed?

Ultrasound is performed when we determine that it can provide useful diagnostic information or help guide a procedure. In many cases, it can be incorporated into the same office visit as the evaluation.

Does Ultrasound Replace MRI, CT, or X-ray?

Not always. Each imaging method answers different questions. Ultrasound can provide excellent real-time information about many superficial soft tissues, while X-rays, MRI, or CT may still be needed depending on the suspected condition.
